If anyone out there does not know that I'm ridiculously clumsy, these pictures should be proof positive. I usually have a mystery bruise or two (I tend to run into doorways and dressers) but this injury takes things to a whole new level. I managed to crush my thumb while I was using wire cutters (the wrong way I might add) to cut an artificial flower stem. I guess that's what I get for trying to be a little Martha Stewart. Anyway, when the handles converged on my thumb, I was in so much pain! Having a thumb injury is no fun, as you would probably guess. I've realized how much I actually use that thing. Changing diapers, lifting Cole, shuffling cards, everything hurts. Heck even typing this blog is no picnic. But, thankfully things are getting better. My nail remains a vision of redish-black, but it hurts considerably less. Moral of the story, don't try to get cute with wire cutters.
